Twelfth Night Concert

This piece was composed by Italian composer Ottorino Respighi in 1928 and 1930. The text is attributed to Franciscan friar Jacopone da Todi (1230-1306) and taken from an anonymous collection, Lauda Umbra. This medieval hymn praises the birth of Jesus. Respighi described the piece as “his personal Christmas card to the world”.

Hello! Have you heard about it? Little Jesus was born in Bethlehem! But the journey to Bethlehem is long and quite complicated.  Follow the shining comet with us in a story full of shepherds, musicians, kings but also donkeys, camels and sheep! We hope to get there on time!

Autumn Concert: Stabat Mater by Josef Bohuslav Foerster

Our choir performed Stabat Mater by Czech composer Josef Bohuslav Foerster as well as pieces by Jan Traján Turnovský and Jan Dismas Zelenka. The programme also included works by Georg Muffat, Josef Ferdinand Norbert Seger and Johann Sebastian Bach for organ.

En Arché performed spirituals and a cycle of Czech and Moravian folk songs Čí sú to koníčky arranged by Jan Málek (choirmaster - Vojtěch Jouza, violin - Anna Sommerová): The Livingston County Chorale conducted by Kelli Falls performed spiritual arranged for a choir.

Concert at the Czech Museum of Music

The Czech Museum of Music hosted a joint concert of En Arché and the University of Kentucky Women's Choir lead by Dr. Lori Hetzl.

En Arché performed spirituals and a cycle of Czech and Moravian folk songs arranged by Jan Málek. Choirmaster - Vojtěch Jouza, violine - Anna Sommerová.

The two choirs also jointly performed Dvořák's Slavíkovský polečko malý.

En Arché co-performed Dvořák's Te Deum at a concert of the Vinohrady Symphonic Orchestra.

 

Vinohrady Symphonic Orchestra directed by Viktor Hruška, soloists: Klára Boudalová - soprano, Mikhail Pashayev - barytone; chamber choirs: En Arché, La Grande Bande, Smíchovští Příležitostní Zpěváci.

Church Night 2018

En Arché co-performed Dvořák's Te Deum at a concert organized within the framework of the Church night at the Church of Czech Brethren in Prague 5. The programme included alsoo other works (e.g. negro spirituals performed by the participating ensembles).

 

Vinohrady Symphonic Orchestra directed by Viktor Hruška, soloists: Klára Boudalová - soprano, Mikhail Pashayev - barytone; chamber choirs: En Arché, La Grande Bande, Smíchovští Příležitostní Zpěváci.
